SAP BusinessObjects Analysis Office 2.1 - a First Look

SAP's Alex Peter shared some new features in 2.1 here Visual Design in Analysis Office 2.1 (e.g. Hichert)

 

Note this product is in ramp-up.

 

Because Analysis shares a common installer with the EPM connector, you will see a new sheet type

The above sheet type is an "Analysis" sheet type on the shown on the Components tab of the Display panel.

What is really exciting too is a new free-form calculation now available.  It is a new formula editor to go beyond the quick calculations to define your own calculations.  Above the free-form calculation is available in the Context Menu

It is also available in the Ribbon as shown above

The above shows a simple example of how the Formula looks.

Although not specifically mentioned in the documentation, the Save View is now available in the Ribbon and not just the Context Menu.

Although not new in 2.1 I did notice you can do multi-selects in formatting; the above I select multiple dimensions and format them as Text and key

I also noticed the steps to format row height are more streamlined now.
