I want to be able to filter my chart in PowerPoint that I inserted from Excel.
In Excel I filtered the chart using a Filter item on the sheet, then I created a slide to send the chart to PP.
In PowerPoint the Filter option is disabled!
What are the cases when the filter option is not available??

I have a requirement to put <= operator on calender day field in analysis for office. I'm so use to webi that didn't realize there's no option/feature in analysis that can directly let me select an operator to achieve the results. I'm working on a report that needs all the transactions processed before a certain date.
Is there any way i can use a operator to get the desired results.

We are in Analysis Office 1.4, BW 7.3 SP9 and Portal 7.3. We can't find
iView template for AO in the Portal according the note 1825429. As confirmed by SAP last week, the iView template doesn't exist yet.
We also can't follow the instruction in the note 1799515 to create the
iView template manually. In our portal 7. 3, iView wizard doesn't have
option to create portal component ( step 1 ).
Does someone know the detail steps on how to go to - iView Wizard -

Hi Experts,
Can somebody walk me through the process of moving Office Analysis reports from one enviornment to the other. All of my reports are saved in a comman folder in Q env. and i'm looking to move these reports to P env. All the queries that these reports are based on have been transported to P enviornment already.
can someone please guide me through this process .

Dear all,
we are looking for a possibility to publish analysis office workbooks to the Enterprise Portal without creating for each workbook a dedicated iView.
In the past the users used the Bex Browser to access all reports in BW, but launching AAO (and SAP Gui 7.30) we do not have such possibility anymore. A workaround would be to go via the BI platform and a launchpad integration, but we want to use plain BW repository storage for all AAO workbooks in order to be independent on the BI platform.
Any suggestions?

I have an AO template with many queries. However, I only want a specific query to refresh on open. Using SAPExecuteCommand's refresh crashes Excel at times. Is there an ideal way to accomplish this?
Reason I'm even doing this is to "initialize" the prompt variables, which apparently requires first refreshing the query. I do not use the prompt dialog but instead use VBA to set the prompts. Before I can set the prompts, I have to force one of the queries to refresh. Kind of a catch 22 situation. Is there anyway to SAPExecuteCommand "initialize variables"? Refreshing the query on workbook open frequently crashes AO/Excel.

While creating a report on DSO i am pulling whole datasource in analysis for microsoft excel, the problem is some of my after decimal values in measures got trucated.
for eg in dso i have a measure called revenue that is = 13.10333 but when i see the same measure revenue in analysis for Microsoft excel it appearing as
13.10.
Even when i increase the decimal places with "3 decimal places" on analysis it appears as 13.100 but not pulling the exact values after decimal.
It should appear as 13.103.
I am on BI 7.x & SAP Analysis 1.4.
Any idea? or i have to change something on DSO end.

We are using SAPGetData function to derive data from BEX Source in Analysis for office. lets say, i have 100 cells of data to populate and
In each cell i need to pass account, customer ID etc within SAPGetData function.
What if i do not want to hard-code these parameter values within SAPGetData function, but i want these values to be referenced from a separate excel workbook.
For ex:
=SAPGetData("DS_1","Amount CP","ZF_Customer_ID=100","ZF_Account=X000000099U","ZF_Location=US")
I do not want to hardcode the values of 100, X000000099U, US in my above example. I want it to reference from another excel workbook ( where these values would be present ).
I kind of came across an excel forumla named as INDIRECT, but i am not sure as to how to use that here. Any ideas ?

We can group the similar dimensions or measures into folders in Universe which can be further consumed in other BO reporting tools.
Is it possible to do the same while connecting AO with HANA?
I want to group similar dimensions and measures so that it comes as respective folders in AO and makes the experience for the user better. Is it possible?

Dear fellow users,
I encounter a problem when using macros in an Excel Workbook to access Analysis functions in order to refresh datasources, set filters etc.
After closing the workbook in Excel via File -> Close or clicking the "X" in its window, the Workbook is still available in the Visual Basic Editor.
If I have several files open, I will get memory issues, as the supposedly closed files still seem to take up (quite a lot of) memory.
I use AO 1.4.4.2736 with Excel 2010 32bit.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

After unloading the Analysis Com-AddIn the file is gone, Memory is freed.

I have a requirement in Analysis to create a report level formula for "Number of days a Product has been on Backorder" which is a calculation based on existing report objects/elements i.e Current Date - Sales Order Creation Date. The problems that I'm facing right now with this are :
a) How to set up Analysis to only select current date automatically each time the report is run as oppose to selecting the current date manually each time ?
b) How do i write the formula that adjusts the Column/Row(with the formula) itself if more objects are added into the report or moved out of the report.

Hi,
We are migrating a couple of BEx Reports from BEx Analyser to Analysis Office.
Problem is the Size Limit issue.
With default size limit in Analysis Office, we get Error: "Maximum Size limit Exceeded".
To overcome this, when I increase the Result Set Size limit, we get Error: "System Out of Memory".
Both being Excel based tool and working on .Net framework, while the BEx Analyzer is capable of working with large result-set, we are not able to achieve the same with Analysis Office.
Any help is appreciated.

We currently use the default cell limit of 500,000 but recently our user feedback would like to double the limit to 1,000,000 cells. I favor the option of referencing the BW object which limits the output and not the registry key entry referenced by Advanced Analysis Admin guide.
Are there any Best Practices or write-ups which go over the above exercise? I don't want to reinvent the wheel

Hi All,
Using GOTO option we are able to jump to another query. We did settings on BW side using RSBBS.
Now the jump query part works fine. except we want to jump to pre-define workbook instead of new workbook each time AO will create.
Is it possible to setup something like jump to a particular workbook?
We recently upgraded to Analysis for Office 1.4 SP4_1. We got following error when open a workbook which was created before SP4_1 and save on local PC. Requested system could not be found in 'logon.ini' (ID-103043). Could not access system BWD for data source (ID-103013)
There is no issue at all when open a workbook previously saved in NW platform (via Portal iView), or newly created workbooks with new DataSource. the logon request prompts up as usual. Have someone got the same issue?
When I save a workbook from Analysis for Office it appears in the document folder of the Launch Pad.
When I try to start the workbook later on from the Launch Pad Excel opens (Which is to be expected)
but a few seconds later the message window appears with the message:
"Could not find Fsqx51IlnwEANDgAAADn8PgAAAwpXi_K document in server."
If the message window is closed there comes up a second message:
"Failed to launch with specified file."
In the current edition of the error handbook the chapter for "Analysis for Office" is missing,
so a solution can not be found there.
Does anybody from you know this problem and is able to provide a solution?

In Analysis for Office we are using Cell Styles in order to format certain columns (to put certain keyfigures in a color)
However, when we remove one column via Excel and/or Analysis for Excel functionality, the Cell Styles are completely lost for all columns in the workbook.
Is this normal behaviour ? Can we avoid this ? Because this makes Cell Styles quite useless...

We have two BW application servers here, but it looks like AO always logs users into the first one, ignoring the other one and causing performance issues.
Is there a way to enable load balancing for AO?
