User Guide link is not working

Does anyone know how to access the User Guide.

 

I used the Documentation links section ofSAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office space to get to the SAP help page SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office 1.4 SP8 – SAP Help Portal Page.

 

Trying to access the User Guide takes you to a "The page cannot be found" error

http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/AMS14/en/14SP8_aaoffice_user_en.pdf

 

The What's new section also fails with the same error.

 

The Admin guide is accessible.

Not authorized to create or change MS document

Hi Everyone,

 

We are currently working on Migration of Bex Workbooks into BO Analysis Workbook using SAP Businessobjects Analysis edition for MS Office 1.4.1.2585.


After the migration process,when we try to save converted BO Analysis Workbook in SAP NetWeaver platformunder Specific Roles,we are getting this error message Not Authorized To Create or Change MS Document.


We have tried implementing S-Note 1830414 for this issue but we did not get any result.We are doing this migration activity initially in Development server.I appreciate all valuable support for resolving this issue.

Invalid confidential channel(FWB 00032)

Hi,

 

We are having an issue with BOBJ analysis while giving the credentials it shows an error like "invalid confidential channel" intermittently.

However we are using the correct password and user-id even though some users are effecting while login into BOBJ,even I faced the same.

 

Could you please let me know why issue occurring intermittently.

Analysis for Office SSO issues (HTTP request unouthorized, SSO ticket expired)

Hello,

 

We configured Windows AD SSO and SAP BW SSO, both working fine so far with BO Analysis for office (BO 4.1 SP1 Patch3, Analysis for Office 1.4).

 

Unfortunately after a while of inactivity (around 30-60min) in the excel client, the users receive the following error message when inserting a new query in analysis for office. I assume that it's a timeout issue, but I already increased the session.timeout-parameter in dsws.properties.

 

Any other ideas what the reason for that error could be? Thanks!

Can we change the date format in Analysis tool

Hi ,

 

Presetly we are using HANA as database to build reports in Analysis . The View has the dat format displayed as "MM.DD.YYYY" but in Analysis it shows up as DD.MM.YYYY.Is there a possibility to change the DATE format in Analysis accordingly for different countries?

I have a requirement where Analysis for office need to be connected with SAP HANA views directly without any OLAP connection via CMC.

 

Is it possible with the current version if yes, how I can achieve the same ?

Excel locks when trying to close AO/Excel session

Hi everyone,

 

I am new to SCN. :-)

 

I am using the Analysis for Microsoft Excel 1.4 SP08. Every time I close Excel when AO is activated, Excel locks up and has to restart:

I am using MS Excel Professional Plus 2010 (32 bit) on a Windows 7 (64 bit) OS. This problem also occurs when using previous service packs.

 

I hope someone has an answer for this! It is very frustrating for myself and our users.

iView properties for Analysis for office

I am trying to create a dedicated iview for one analysis for office workbook but I cant seem to find any information on how to enter the application parameters to launch a specific AA workbook from the portal.

 

Any ideas on how to go about this?

Store Analysis Workbooks in HANA Repository

Hello fellows,

 

is somebody aware of a possibility to store Analysis Workbooks in the HANA Repository? Background is that I don´t want to use the NW Platform or BOE to deploy the Workbook, if have a native HANA Reporting scenario.

Connexion time very long

Hello,

When we try to connect to Analysis for Excel, response time is very long before executing the querie.

I mean screen with connexion parameters and then screen to choose BICS connexion.

Is there a way to accelerate the connexion ?

Did any one face a similar problem?


Business Objects Analysis for Excel dumps on Save Data in a Standard Input-ready query


Error when multiple rows of data is saved in Analysis. Works fine when a single row of data is saved.


Any pointers to find the probable cause are appreciated. Thanks.


 

Versions: BO Analysis for Excel Client (Version: 1.4.6)

Netweaver 7.3 SP 11

 

Steps:

 

Open a Standard delivered Input Ready query /ERP/COOM_A07_IRQ0001

 

In the Input template, enter values for multiple WBS Elements for a single period

 

Click on Save Data

 

Analysis Error occurred. Data is not saved.

 

Error Messages:

 

a) An exception occurred in one of the data sources.

SAP BI Add-in has disconnected all data sources.

If you want to restart, press the Restart button below. (ID-111006)

 

b) Nested exception. See inner exception below for more details:

Invalid program status\: RFC call BICS_PROV_GET_RESULT_SET returned an exception: INVALID_DATA_PROVIDER_HANDLE

 

 

 

Also, question on Analysis and Java.  Is BI-JAVA required for Bex queries to work on Analysis?


From what I gathered from scn, Java isn't a pre-requisite. However all the SAP Notes related to BO Analysis point to corrections or upgrade to BI-JAVA

How to create folders when saving Analysis Workbooks to SAP NetWeaver BW?

I have a question on how it's possible to organize Analysis Workbooks in roles on the SAP NetWeaver BW Platform and specific how the business user can create folder/subfolders within a BW role when saving an Analysis Workbook?

 

In BEx Analyzer business people can create subfolders within a BW role (e.g. 2014, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 etc).

When we want to achieve the same with an Analysis Workbook there is no option to create a folders/subfolder. Does anyone know how to do so?

Since the users would like to organize the workbooks I think the SAP BuisnessObjects Analysis Edition for Microsoft Office should support this. Any highlights on this matter would be appreciated.

 

Please note versions as follows:

SAP Netweaver BW version 7.31 SP9 (SAPKW73109)

SAP BusinessObejcts Edition for Microsoft Office version 1.4 SP9

How to migrate BEx workbook saved in local system with users using BO Analysis edition for MS office 1.4.1.2585.?

We have successfully migrated all the workbooks present in sap netweaver bw platform but we have problem in migrating the workbooks that locally saved in users system.

SAPSetFilterComponent - how to enter/paste multiple values

Hi all

 

When using SAPSetFilterComponent with the 'MULTIPLE' option, e.g. "DS_1";"0DIVISION";"ALL";"MULTIPLE", what is the supported way to enter multiples? So far I was able to enter or copy/paste semi-colon delimited values. Is it somehow also possible to paste a list from Excel, or is this only possible through the filter dialog?

SAPCallMemberSelector and range values

Hi,

 

I'm trying to get the range of a variable which is set through a prompt in order to assign new values to this variable and rerun the query via VBA.

In the prompt two input boxes for this variable are shown. So I assume that the following command:

 

Dim vResult as Variant

vResult = Application.Run("SAPCallMemberSelector", "DS_1", "PROMPT", "VARIABLE")

 

delivers the entered values. Unfortunately the variable "vResult" is empty and does not return any error.

 

Since the documentation says that the function "SAPCallMemberSelector" only returns three kinds of return types and in my case the function neither returns an error nor "False", I assume that "SAPCallMemberSelector" can't handle range values. I'm using Analysis 1.4 SP8.

Am I doing something wrong or is the function "SAPCallMemberSelector" not able to handle range values?

SAP BO Analysis for Office and other Excel plug-ins

Hi together,

 

we are facing some issues when some BO Power User of one of our customers are working with BO Analysis for Office as they do have some other "self-made" Excel plug-ins which they neccesarily need for their daily business but which crashes with Analysis for Office. So we had to deactivate all other excel plug-ins and restart as we wanted to use SAP BO Analysis, but this is not a satisfying solution for our customer team. So is there a standard solution or is the possibily given to seperate other excel plug-ins from the SAP BO Analysis plug-in or installation?

 

I would be very happy and thankful for helpful answers!
