Size limit of result set exceeded+Analysis for Microsoft Office

Hi gurus,

I have installed new microsoft excel-2013 latest version and Analysis for microsoft office version 1.4.10.3295.When i take a report with more than 65000 rows,i am getting an error of "Size limit of result set exceeded" every time.I haven't uninstall old Bex Analyser,so i am still using that and there is no error for that.

I got one useful answer in one thread,like registry editing (Fixed -  Result set is too large message in ADV. ANALYSIS OFFICE 1.0)but i am not able to find in my client PC.Is this settings in the server side?.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\AdvancedAnalysis\Settings\DataSource]

"ShowBicsSample"="True"

"ResultSetSizeLimit"="-1"

If it in the client side,this is not a solution for all business users (we have around 2000 Analysis users).

Is there a permanent solution for this?Please help anyone?

Logon to HANA from Analysis for Office

$

Hi,

I have a question on how others have setup the connection to HANA for Analysis for Office. I am wanting to setup end users to access data from HANA using Analysis for Office.

According to the Administrator Guide the SAP HANA OLAP connections are currently not SSO compatible.  Also according to the guide an OLAP connection to the Hana database with authentication type Pre-defined cannot work with Analysis for Office because the pre-defined user (and password) is not exposed to local clients such as Analysis.

We have HANA Analytic views and Caculation views which we are accessing using Analysis for Office using an OLAP connection defined in the CMC. At the moment the way for users to access the HANA data is to log in to the HANA system through a SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform prompt and then a second login prompt to HANA. This is not a very good solution as users have to go through two prompts entering two user ids and passwords. Also this means that every end user has to have a HANA login as well rather than us being able to setup a pre-defined user in HANA like we can with Analysis for OLAP.

I am hoping that someone can shed some light on what a good solution might be.

Note:We have native HANA and we don’t have BW on HANA.

Thanks

Steve,

Analysis Office compatibility with GUI 7.40 / NWBC 5.0?

$

Dear all,

after my first tests I have the impression that Analysis Office (1.4.9) is not compatible with the new system definition file format SAPUILandscape.xml. This format is activated as soon as NWBC 5.0 is added to a SAP-GUI 7.40 installation.

My searches for infirmation on this subject were not successful.

Is there any official statment or support note on that which I might have missed? Anybody sharing this experience?

This also is a warning not to check all checkboxes in the GUI 7.40 installation options without prior thinking about this. NWBC 5.0 is included in the GUI 7.40 installation package.

Lutz

Hallo all,

in a query we use an hierarchy variable. If we use BEx Analyzer 7.0 we have the possibility to display text AND key of the different values.

In BO (2.0.2.3622) this isn't possible. Also in BO 1.4 we hadn't this possibility ...

I hope you understand what i mean

For help, see attached file.

Thank you for your answers.

Change workbook description in several languages (multi language)

Hi All,

after having created many AfO reports/workbooks (Excel) and saved them to SAPNetweaver in our preferred UI language (DE) we would now like to give descriptions for other UI languages (esp. EN), too .

One way we found is to reconnect to SAP with language EN and then save the report/workbook again.

But this is quite time consuming for some hundreds of reports.

Hope there is another, quicker way to do so.

Within BEX3.5 there was the "Change workbook title" feature, which we cannot find anyhere in AfO.

Technically spoken:

How to add descriptions to table RSAOOBJT column DESC in other LANGU

without just hacking them  it into the DB table directly.

Thanks in advance

AAOE Workbooks and SAP Standard Transport mechanism on Netweaver stack?

$

Dear all,

we are running BW 7.31 with the standard transport connection settings and not the BI transport mode.

Whenever a new BEx Analyzer worbook is created and saved on the netweaver stack, I get a popup to specifiy the package and I'm able  able to create the corresponding transport request.

I want to use the same mechanism for Analysis for Office workbooks, but each time I save a AAOE workbook, I do not get any popup for transport request creation at all and the AAOE workbook is stored as a local object in package $TMP.

Only chance will be to use the RSA1 -> Transport Connection Scenario to collect the AAOE workbooks in a transport request, but this is not really the way I want to go here.

I already checked all settings (ABAP: RS_RSAO_REGISTER_AND_TRANSP) and everything seems to OK...

Any ideas or is this simply not working?

Thanks and best regards,

Andreas

Hi Experts,

We have several reports in Analysis for ms Office. The report header (titles) are in german language. What could we do, that we can translate those headers ?

Example:

User A (German)

User B (French)

User A open up the report -> headers are in german language.

User B open up the same report -> headers should be in french.

We tried to translate Analysis for office Reports with Translation management tool and detect that there is no support!

In BEx Analyzer we had a solution in vba, which we want use if there is an other way to translate objects..

thx for any idea!

Kind regards,

Michael

Dear All,

    I was able to create a custom tab with custom groups and buttons with the help of threads and documentation. I'm trying to add frequently used buttons in two different ways. 1. Add to Custom button to SAP Analysis Tab 2. Add Planning Group from Analysis tab to Custom Tab.

    I tried to used idQ provided in the following link, which is not working for me. Can any one help me to achieve this?

Analysis Office: - Pass from & to Variable values for planning sequence in Macro code

$

Hi Experts,

I wonder how to call the pass from & to values for planning sequence variables in Analysis office workbook.

For instance, I have a Distribution by refernce planning function with Sender cost center variable [single value mandatory input variable] & Receiver cost center variable [Multiple single value mandatory input variable].

these two variables are part of input ready query designer on cost center infoobjects.

when workbook is opening, both Sender & Receiver cost center variables will be filled along with other variable values.

1.can we pass same variable values into macro code before execution of planning sequence as below ?

ex:

Sub onExecuteFYDistribute()

    IResult = Application.Run("SAPSetPlanParamert", "FY_ALLOC", "ZCC_FROM", "XUSOMCA01", "INPUT_STRING")

    IResult = Application.Run("SAPSetPlanParamert", "FY_ALLOC", "ZRECEIVER_CC", "XUSFICH01;XUSHOCA01;XUSHOCH01", "INPUT_STRING")

    IResult = Application.Run("SAPExecutePlanningSequence", "FY_ALLOC")

End Sub

this is giving error.

Planning Sequence Variables.JPGVariable Values.JPG

2.  Both Sender and Receiver variable parameter can be passed in same "SAPSetPlanParamert" ?

  IResult = Application.Run("SAPSetPlanParamert", "FY_ALLOC", "ZCC_FROM", "XUSOMCA01", "ZRECEIVER_CC", "XUSFICH01;XUSHOCA01;XUSHOCH01", "INPUT_STRING")

3. In Analysis Office user guide

Example:

Dim lResult as long
lResult= Application.Run("SAPSetPlanParameter", "PF_1", "0TARGET_YEAR", "2013", "INPUT_STRING")

for 0TARGET_YEAR variable, value 2013 is mentioned;

how to pass variable value dynamically instead of maintaining value like 2013 ?

could you please help on how to pass from and to variable values for executing planning sequence.

I checked in SCN, but did not get clue to resolve this issue.

Thank you.

Hi,

I try to configure SSO for Analysis for excel by applying OSS note "1785270 - How to configure AD SSO for Advance Analysis for MS Office with Business Objects BI 4.0".

I am just unclear regarding configuration of the Kerberos Proxy Filter in the web.xml file. I am not expert in config files, and I am wondering what should be the exact syntax for this part. Any example would be a great help.

THanks,

Gabriel

SAPSetFilter with Range values

Hello,

    I have a requirement to restrict Datasource to range of values for a field. It is working fine with single values, not for range. Please guide me with correct syntax.

   1. Created 2 Excel Dropdown filled with values for 0CALWEEK i.e. "Calweek from" and "Calweek to"

   2. if i select a value in "CalWeekTo" Dropdown, i want to restrict Datasource with Calweek Range

      Code:

    Dim WeekFr As String

    Dim WeekTo As String

    WeekFr = Sheets("Main").FromWeek.Value

    WeekTo = Sheets("Main").ToWeek.Value

     Dim lResult As Long

     lResult = Application.Run("SAPSetFilter", "DS_1", "0CALWEEK", WeekFr - WeekTo, "INPUT_STRING")

Thanks,

Benarji.

Standard VBA coding Worksheet_Change or Worksheet_Calculate not working

$
0
0

Hi,

I am currently trying to use the standard VBA coding events "Worksheet_Change" or "Worksheet_Calculate" in combination with a SAP Analysis for Office Worksheet.

The general idea is that I am using one cell to chapture a variable value which is filled in the prompt. As soon as the user is trying to enter a different value for that variable in the prompt, the event Worksheet_Change or Worksheet_Calculate should jump in and adjust a filter based on the selected new prompt value.

Example:

1.The user selects category 13000 initially in the prompt.

2.The user goes back to the prompt and selects a different category (12000).

3.The value for this category is captured in a cell using =SAPGetVariable("DS_1"; "0S_0CM_CDT1_MO_01"; "VALUEASKEY")

4.As soon as the category value changed in that cell (here D5), the VBA event Worksheet_Change or Worksheet_Calculate (based on worksheet level) should jump in executing the following code:

Public Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)

    Set Target = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("SAP_Formula_Customizing").Range("D5")

    If Not Intersect(Target, ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("SAP_Formula_Customizing").Range("D5")) Is Nothing Then

        Call Reset_Filter

    End If

End Sub

5. Unfortunately the coding is not accessed after a changed prompt value. It is only accessed when I change the value for cell D5 in the workbook directly or indirectly (meaning by referencing onto a different cell which i then change).

start a second planning sequence only after succes of first sequence

$

Hi all,

we have created a VBA-button in an AfO mask which should run 2 planning sequences and then do a save plan data in the end.

As usual in planning, we want to run the second sequence only in case the first sequences has run succesful without any errors and the save should only be done if none of the two sequences produce any error.

we use the VBA command

lReturn = Excel.Application.Run("SAPExecutePlanningSequence", sPlanningSequence)

    If lReturn = 0 Then

        Call mSapErrorHandler(oErrors)

    End If

but the return code which we get back from the sequence is always = 1, no matter whether ther is an error or not.

Therefore the follwoing sequence and save are started, which is not correct.

does anyone have an ides on how to run the two seqneunces and get the correct information about the success or error of the first sequence?

thanks

Cornelia
